Useful Complement of Vitamin B3;
What is the role of vitamin B in metabolism?
What is the benefit of Vitamin B3?
Vitamin B3 or Niacin also called PP for prevention of pellagra contributes
to the formation of coenzymes which play an important role in the metabolism of
proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Vitamin B3 is involved in the
development of several hormones such as cortisone and sex hormones. It is
involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, which are chemical substances
that allow the passage of nerve impulses. This is a necessary vitamin for
good skin and gastrointestinal tract, see nutritive value of vitamin 12.
Food source of vitamin B3:
Vitamin B3
comes in two forms, nicotinic acid and nicotinamide, whose properties are
identical. Vitamin B3 is found in many foods, such as liver, yeast, meat,
fish, fruits and dried vegetables, wheat, peanuts, whole grains,
potatoes. Vitamin B3 withstands cooking.
Deficit of vitamin B3:
Deficiencies of vitamin B3 are rare, because bodies can synthesize some of
niacin needed, from proteins in the diet. But however, a deficit may occur
in the context of global malnutrition.
Symptoms of vitamin B3 deficit:
There should be so much fatigue, depression, mental disorders and confusion,
skin problems such as erythematic and itching, especially after exposure to
sunlight, inflammation of the tongue and digestive disorders that cause
diarrhea, nausea, and loss of appetite. These are the symptoms of a
disease called pellagra, which can progress to extreme weakness, potentially
lethal, in the absence of treatment.
Useful Complement of Vitamin B3:
Regular consumption of alcohol. Poor diet and not rich enough in
proteins. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, but you should consult a
doctor before taking vitamin or mineral supplements.
