How to help preserve forests;

How to restore damaged ecosystems?

What are the effects of deforestation?

Effects of deforestation, Looking at the great importance of forests and trees in the functioning of ecosystems, we can conclude to the massive effects of deforestation and tree cutting activities, the below following shows a few examples.

Soil erosion destruction:

1.    Soils and the nutrients in them are exposed to the sun’s heat.
2.    Soil moisture is dried up, nutrients evaporate and bacteria that help break down organic matter are affected.
3.    In fact, rain washes down the soil surfaces and so erosion takes place.
4.    Soils will never get back to their full potentials.

Water Cycle:

1.    When forests are destroyed, the atmosphere water bodies and the water table are all affected.
2.    Trees absorb and retain water in their roots.
3.    A large part of water that circulates in the ecosystem of rainforests remains inside the plants.
4.    Some of this moisture is transpired into the atmosphere.
5.    When this process is broken, the atmosphere and water bodies begin to dry out, so less water will run through the rivers, and also smaller lakes and streams that take water from these larger water bodies will dry up.

Loss of Biodiversity:

1.    Many wonderful species of plants and animals might be lost, and many others remain endangered.
2.    More than eighty percent of the world's species remain in the Tropical Rainforest.
3.    The tragedy is that it is estimated for more than fifty species of animals are being lost each day as a result of destruction of their habitats.
4.    Many beautiful creatures, both plants and animals have vanished from the face of the earth.

Climate Change processes:

1.    Plants absorb Carbon Dioxide, a greenhouse gas from the atmosphere and use it to produce their foods, such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins that make up trees; in return they give off Oxygen.
2.    Destroying the forests means that Carbon Dioxide will remain in the atmosphere; in addition, destroyed vegetation will give off more Carbon Dioxide stored in them as they decompose.
3.    This will alter the climate of that region, and cool climates may get a lot hotter, whereas hot climates may get a lot cooler.

How to help preserve the forests:

1.    Due to the extent and nature of forest destruction, efforts to stop deforestation and preserve them are best achieved at government and organization levels.
2.    This means that laws, rules and regulations from countries can help to enforce the preservation of forests.
3.    Laws on farming, timber and wood, as well as land use must be encouraged and enforced.
4.    There are many things to do to help preserving the nature.

Active member by:

1.    Joining organizations, forest preservation societies, and pressure groups that aim to help preserve the rest of natural resources.
2.    When more people work together, the impact will be greater.

Self manage by:

1.    Reducing the use of artificial items.
2.    Recycling more and reusing items.
3.    Wood, paper, plastics, and many other things daily use at home can be linked to natural resources being destroyed.
4.    This means that if people recycle more, there will be less dependence on the environment and trees.
5.    And also companies and governments will import fewer raw materials from the forest regions of the world.

Promotion by:

1.    Making a conscious effort to share information with others, like friends at school, and family members, on deforestation and its' effects.
2.    Some people may say it is silly to think that these problems can be solved like this.
3.    But things work better when responsible people don’t give up.

Conclusion by the meaning of the word TREES:

1.    Teach others about the importance of the environment and how they can help save rainforests.
2.    Restore damaged ecosystems by planting trees on land where forests have been cut down.
3.    Encourage people to live in a way that doesn't hurt the environment.
4.    Establish parks to protect rainforests and wildlife.
5.    Support companies that operate in ways that minimize damage to the environment.
